One of her abstract paintings, "Cosmic Dancer" was Selected for the latest North Light Books' Best of Watercolor: "Splash 14: Light and Color!" to be published in July/ 2013.

But it wasn't until 1996 that she discovered "Experimental and Intuitive" painting with Maxine Masterfield, Edward Betts, Mary Todd Beam, Robert Burridge, Lila Lewis Irving and Pat Dews, that her true passion for art ignited.

"I was transported by the abstract forms, vast expanses of color and textures swirling and unfolding," Cristina explains. "This new freedom in painting connects me to my innerself, inviting me to play like a child and explore".

To regain a sense of connectedness to nature, Cristina moved from Toronto to rural Ottawa in 2006 and built her dream studio overlooking the Ottawa River and The Gatineau Hills.

She is currently working as a full time artist and teaching private painting workshops from her studio.
Besides her abstract/non-objective and Contemporary Landscapes works she keeps painting small still lifes, animals and other miniatures.
